India’s defense ministry creates largest employment in world, followed by USA

As per the latest data from research firm, Statista, the largest employment in the world is created by India’s defense ministry, with employing 29.2 lakh people as all the three armies’ active and reserve soldiers, and non-military staff. On the second position is the USA’s defense ministry, which employs 29.1 lakh people.

China’s PLA is at the third spot with the creation of 25.5 lakh jobs, followed by the USA’s Walmart with 23 lakh employments. The fifth position has been bagged by the USA’s Amazon, with 16.1 lakh recruitments, China’s CNPC is next with 14.5 lakh jobs, followed by Taipei’s Volkswagen with 12.9 lakh jobs, and next is the Indian Railways which provides jobs to more than 12.5 lakh people.

Last year, the total defense budget of all the countries all over the world was 173 lakh crore rupees, out of which 62% of the share was made up by 5 countries only- the USA, China, India, Britain, and Russia. The USA alone spent a total of 66 lakh crore rupees, while China spent more than 24 lakh crore rupees. In the meanwhile, the participation of women in the world’s armies is really less. Only 27 countries revealed the data related to women. In Turkey, women comprise 0.3% of the armies, in India, 0.7%, Poland, 7%. 11% are women in the UK’s armies, while Germany stands at 12%. 16% is the women’s share in France’s armies, 17% in that of the USA, and 20% make up Hungary’s armies.
