Chennai: The Indian Space Association (ISpA) has said that the Indo-French collaboration is entering an exciting new phase in the space sector.

In a statement here, ISpA Director General Lt Gen A K Bhatt (Retd) said in the context of the GIFAS (French aerospace industries association) delegation visit to India, said both the
countries have a long-standing history of cooperation in space technology and exploration.

This partnership is entering an exciting new phase with increased collaboration between private sector players, he said.

“France is one of the biggest providers of advanced components for India’s space missions, contributing to India’s growing space industry”, he added.

As the global space race intensifies, the synergy between India’s ambitious space missions
and France’s advanced expertise in satellite and space systems offers significant opportunities for innovation and development.

This is an opportune time for the private industry to collaborate, he said.

“Our partnership with GIFAS, the French aerospace industries association, for public and private sectors promises to propel us to new heights, fostering innovation and driving progress like never before”, Lt Gen Bhatt said.

“On the GIFAS delegation visit to India, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening industry collaboration between our two nations, and our MoU with them last year aims to enhance the understanding of space industry capabilities and increase awareness of business opportunities in France and India”, he said.

The MoU has already been successful in augmenting the individual and collective membership bases of the organizations through the benefit of greater international linkages for the members, he said.
