Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police from Doda district have arrested two fraudsters from Uttar Pradesh state for cheating a complainant from the Kishtwar district.

Police said that two online fraudsters namely Adesh Singh of Chandokha Farrukhabad, UP and Vishal Partap Singh of Salemnpur Bharkha, Farrukhabad, UP have been arrested, who were wanted against a case registered in Police Station Thathri, district Doda.

Both the accused persons were arrested in execution of non-bailable warrants issued by the Court.

sharing details, police added that on the complaint of one Sanjay Kumar of Drabshalla, District Kishtwar dealing the business as wholesale supplier at Thathri alleged that he came in contact and received a call from one Ajay Nagesh Joushi, working with indices sucrose Ltd. based at Hoshi Pura, Punjab and supplies sugar to dealers at different locations.

During conversation, as per the complainant, he was made to believe by the fraudster that he would supply sugar for him and upon this demand 10 tons of sugar was given by the complainant for his store at Thathri.

In turn a bill for Rs, 3,25000/= alongwith account number was provided by the fraudster to the complainant to make payment and the complainant transferred the amount.

Thereafter, police said that the complainant again received a call from the fraudster that the vehicle in which sugar had been supplied was on way towards Thathri but due to some mechanical fault the vehicle got breakdown near Udhampur and complainant was asked to transfer Rs, 5000/= to vehicle driver namely Raju.

“Sensing some foul play, the complainant asked the fraudster to send Rs, 5000/= to his account and then he would arrange to send but the fraudster denied following which he came to know that he was cheated upon,” said police.

Police during the course of investigation established that the complainant was cheated and swindled online by the fraudsters and after completing the investigation produced the charge sheet of the case.

Consequently on non-bail able warrants issued by the Court against the fraudsters, a Police team was deputed and both the fraudsters were arrested by the Police team with the help UP Police, from Farrukhabad UP and produced them in the Court, wherefrom they were lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah on judicial remand.

Notably, the fraudsters are involved in a number of phishing cases registered against them in Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and are notorious inter-state fraudsters, said police.
