The most wanted drug smuggler, Dawood Ahmad Sofi, was identified as a resident of Solinda Khaipora Tangmarg. He was booked under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. He was subsequently detained and lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.
Pertinent to mention here that many cases were registered against the drug smuggler, who was involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth in Tangmarg & other areas of the district.
Despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth.
