J&K Police Constable Awarded Shaurya Chakra Posthumously for Heroic Anti-Militancy operation

Srinagar : President Droupadi Murmu presented the Shaurya Chakra award to Constable Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, posthumously, for his exceptional courage during an operation in Baramulla that resulted in the elimination of three militants and the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition.

A police official told that constable Sheikh Mudassir displayed remarkable bravery and skill in the face of danger, which was instrumental in the successful completion of the operation.

The special police officer lost his life during the operation, but his courage and dedication to duty will be remembered forever.

The Shaurya Chakra award, which is the third highest peacetime gallantry award in India, was given to Constable Sheikh in recognition of his outstanding service to the nation.

The award was presented during a solemn ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the President expressed her gratitude and appreciation for Constable Sheikh’s sacrifice and bravery.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police department also expressed their pride and appreciation for Constable Sheikh’s exemplary service and bravery, which is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the police force in protecting the citizens of the country.

The Shaurya Chakra award is conferred upon military personnel as well as civilians for acts of valor, courage, and selflessness in the face of danger.

The award is a symbol of the nation’s gratitude and respect for the sacrifices made by its brave men and women in the line of duty.
