J&K: SFs recover M4 rifle from Doda encounter site, operation underway

Jammu: Security Forces on Wednesday recovered one M4 rifle and other war-like stores from the site of gunfight underway with terrorists in the woods of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that one M4 rifle has been recovered while bloodstains were found, and three rucksacks were also seized from near the riverine area in the Assar belt of Doda district.

An encounter erupted between security forces and terrorists on Tuesday evening in the Assar area of Doda district.

“Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police was launched in Akar Forest near Patnitop,” White Knight Corps posted on X.

“There are reports that one terrorist has also received injuries in an ensuing operation,” they said.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Javed Iqbal, said that the operation is in progress and the further details will be shared accordingly.
