The International President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Senior Advocate, Alok Kumar, has expressed his concern over the brutal murder of Hindus, riots, arson, violence, looting, and large-scale migration incidents that took place in Murshidabad, West Bengal. He stated that while protests occur nationwide, why are violence and attacks on Hindus happening on such a large scale only in Bengal?

He demanded a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the entire incident in Murshidabad and remarked that preventing organizations from coming forward to assist the Hindu community forced to live in relief camps in Malda is also an inhuman act.

Addressing a press conference at Bhasha Bhavan in Alipore, Kolkata, the VHP president expressed deep concern that the Chief Minister of the state, Mamata Banerjee, remains silent on the jihadist attacks happening to Hindus everywhere. She claims that these attacks were premeditated with the involvement of foreign Bangladeshis and that this issue is international, but still, why does she not demand an investigation by the NIA into the incident?

‘We believe that justice should be provided to the victimized Hindus and severe punishment to the attacking jihadists. Those whose property has been looted, burned, or vandalized should be compensated immediately, and Hindus in the state should be ensured safety’, he stated.

Alok Kumar also said that protests on various issues are common across the country; however, attacks on Hindus and their brutal killings in the name of these protests have become a trend in Bengal in recent years. This cannot happen without the government’s indifference and the direct or indirect support of the ruling party to such extremist and social elements. Therefore, there should also be an investigation into why protestors, regardless of the issue, specifically target Hindus.

He added that many such victims’ families are being forcibly sent back to Murshidabad by the government to hide their shortcomings. While the families are saying that their lives are in danger unless there is a strong security arrangement by the central security forces there.

‘But isn’t the state government’s decision to forcibly throw Hindus in front of those wolves like killing them alive? The state government should reconsider this decision’, questioned Kumar.
