Mysuru: Exuding confidence of the Congress party winning the May 10 assembly election in Karnataka, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday alleged that as much as Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been ‘looted’ from the state.

“It is said Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been looted from Karnataka. This money could have been used for developmental works in the state. This could have benefited the people,” she said.

Priyanka said the BJP government has looted the people without any shame. “You must be aware of about Rs eight crore seized from an MLA’s son. Instead of investigating, the MLA carried out a parade,” Priyanka said.

The duo was arrested by Lokayukta police in the case.

While Prashant was arrested with unaccounted cash worth Rs 40 lakh at his father’s office on March 2, Lokayukta police had arrested Virupakshappa after the Karnataka High Court rejected his bail plea last Monday.

Priyanaka is scheduled to take part in the public rally at Yalavarahundi in T Narasipur and later, she will interact with women in Gaurishankar Hall at Hanur town in Chamarajanagar.

In the evening, she will address a massive rally in KR Nagar constituency after which Priyanka will also take part in the procession.
