Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Army has announced a transformational change in the selection procedure of Army Agniveer Recruitment from this year onwards.
Addressing a press conference at Pangode Military Station, Major General P Ramesh, Additional Director General Recruiting (States), said according to the new selection procedure of Army Agniveer Recruitment, the candidate will undergo Common Entrance Exam first instead of physical tests.
“There is no change in the syllabus and pattern of the exam,” he added.
“The process will become more streamlined, simpler for candidates to appear and is in synchronised with current technological advancement of the country.”
The changed procedure will focus on enhanced cognitive aspects during recruitment and will result in wider and better outreach across the country, he said.
“It will also reduce large crowds assembling at Recruiting Rallies and reduce the administrative arrangements therein,” he said on Friday.
Online Registration for Agniveer General Duty, Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Tradesmen (10th Pass & 8th Pass), Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical is open from February 16 to March 15 23 for the male candidates of seven southern districts of Kerala, i.e, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam.
Based on their performance in the Online Common Entrance Exam, shortlisted candidates will be called to nominated venues for Recruitment Rallies. The procedure of Recruitment Rallies remains unchanged. Final merit will be based on Online Common Entrance Exam result and physical test marks as hither-to-fore.
The Major General advised the candidates not to fall prey to touts as they cannot help them in any way. The recruitment into the Indian Army remains completely unbiased, impartial and merit based, he clarified.
