Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday dissolved the second legislative assembly of the Telangana state with effect from Sunday afternoon.
Consequent to the resolution yesterday of the Council of Ministers recommending the dissolution of the second Legislative Assembly of Telangana state, the Governor dissolved it.
She acted under the powers conferred by Section 174(2)(b) of the Constitution of India, effective from the afternoon of December 3, 2023.
The decision was announced by Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan in a press communiqué.
The Congress party bagged 65 seats including its ally CPI winning one seat in the 119-member assembly in the election held on November 30. The grand old party is all set to form the new government in the state.
