Lucknow: Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged women to move forward in every field from space to sports.

Addressing the employment fair organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan here, Irani said, “India is the only country in the world which has worshipped both Shiva and Shakti equally. This is the culture of the country.”

She said, “Modi had said that the first constitutional resolution at the beginning of the new Parliament is to pay tribute to women power by offering 33 percent reservation to the women and sisters of the nation.

This is the culture of the PM. After the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, now a woman belonging to any class or community can lead the country.

He has encouraged women to move forward in every field from space to sports.”

Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Union Minister said that after the successful conduct of G-20, the PM met the gardeners, drivers, traffic controllers and gate-keepers of the Central Public Works Department and thanked them for their cooperation.

“The 218 government employees who get jobs should take inspiration from Modi and work in the spirit of citizen first and consider themselves as servants and the public as their masters,” she said.

Smriti said that the public expects discipline from officers and expects efficiency, spontaneity and simplicity from them. “Every effort should be made to ensure that the public does not get unnecessarily worried about their work.

The newly appointed candidates should not consider this as just an appointment letter, it is an appointment with the future of India. New officers should work by exploring the potential of skill and scale. Using technology, people’s problems will be solved not by the app but by you,” she said.

Irani called upon the new officers to adopt the communication skill and work for the public by becoming servants and not masters. She said that the nature of the postal department has now changed.

She said, “India’s postal department has established itself as a strong banking sector. India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has opened more than eight crore accounts, out of which three crore accounts are of women.”

The Union Minister said, “In the times to come the postman will bring not only the message but also the bank account. On the birth of a daughter, interest at the rate of eight percent is available on bank accounts opened under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, which is the highest in the country. The Postal Department is the cornerstone of economic prosperity and financial security of daughters.”

Union Minister Anupriya Patel was present in the employment fair organised in Varanasi. She said that this was a new edition of the employment fair run by the Union Government. “Today, appointment letters have been given to 51,000 candidates by the PM,” Anupriya said.

The Minister said that all these youth forces are going to contribute in the journey of the next 25 years to make India developed in 2047. “India has the highest youth power in the world.

Through this employment fair, we are ensuring that these youth will also become partners in the journey of developed India,” she said.
