12 militants nabbed in Manipur

Imphal: Twelve militants have been nabbed in separate incidents during the past 24 hours in Manipur.

Police said on Wednesday that arms were also recovered.

The recovered arms included 7.62 mm SLR along with magazines, 5.56 mm INSAS rifle, .22 rifle, 2 bore double barrel gun, hand grenade, stun grenade, from Keirao Wangkhem under Irilbung-PS, Imphal East District.

Police said a person was also nabbed with drugs. He was identified as Sandeep Deswal who was carrying 17.34 kgs of Opium at T. Khullen, NH-2 under Senapati-PS, Senapati District.

Security Forces arrested seven active members of KCP (PWG) from a farm house/temporary camp of KCP (PWG) located at Tera Urak under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District.

Manipur Police arrested one cadre of PREPAK (Pro) from Bishnupur District. In another incident security forces arrested one cadre of KCP (Taibanganba) group . In another joint operation Manipur Police and 5/9 GR arrested one active member of KYKL fromImphal East District.

Manipur Police arrested two active cadres of KCP (PWG) from Khural Chingangbam Leikai near DDK Imphal Gate under Porompat-PS, Imphal East District .
