1kg Narcotics worth crores recovered near LoC in North Kashmir’s Uri: Police

Srinagar : Joint forces of Baramulla Police and Army Dagger Division on Thursday recovered approx. 1Kg (with packing) of Narcotics from Churanda Uri near LoC worth Crores in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A police spokesperson said that Joint forces of Baramulla Police and Army Dagger Division while conducting routine area domination patrols in general area of village Churanda Uri located nearby LoC, found a suspicious bag. Accordingly, search of the surrounding area was also conducted and Narco Dog of BSF was called in and during search operation, narcotics concealed in suspicious bag weighing approx. 1 Kg (with packing) worth Crores was recovered.

“To this effect case FIR No. under NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Uri and investigation set in motion.”

“During preliminarily investigation it was learnt that under a well hatched conspiracy, Pakistan based handlers are pushing drugs inside JK to spread drug addiction amongst youth of J&K”, he said.

He said that further investigation into the matter is on.
