3,000 Afghan refugees return from Pakistan

Kabul: A total of 3,000 Afghan refugees returned to Afghanistan from neighboring Pakistan on Monday, said a statement of Afghanistan’s Ministry for Refugees and Repatriation Affairs, released here Tuesday.

According to the statement of the ministry, the process of returning the refugees to Afghanistan continues.

More than 2.5 million registered Afghan refugees reportedly have been living in Pakistan and about the same number are living in Iran.

More than 270,000 Afghan refugees have returned from Iran over the past six months.
