On Thursday afternoon, Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Haseena visited the world-renowned Dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, Rajasthan to pay homage. She received a grand red- carpet welcome amidst tight security and offered a velvet chadar to pay her respects to the Sufi saint.

She was welcomed into the Dargah with melodies of musical instruments by all the Dargah authorities present on the occasion. This was Haseena’s third ziyarat to the Dargah being the PM of Bangladesh.

The whole of the Dargah was emptied on her visit, keeping in mind the security risks. Haseena was welcomed at the Nizam Gate of the Dargah and escorted by important officials of the Dargah committee like Syed Kalimuddin Chishti, the Dargah Diwan, Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, Syed Gulam Kibaria Chishti, Syed Sarwar Chishti, Subahan Chishti, Fahim Chishti, Jahid Ul Haq Chishti, Syed Shahid Hussain Rizwi and Munnawar Khan.

The Dargah committee, along with Haseena, post the ziyarat, paid their respects at the Buland Darwaza and as per tradition, she was gifted a sword, a bouquet and a shawl. On her return, she was greeted by the Dargah Committee led by Dargah Diwan Zainul Abedin at the Nizam Gate and souvenirs were then gifted to her.
