Madhya Pradesh tops in Ayushman Bharat registration, Tamil Nadu in free treatments

A total of 15.88 crore people of India have been registered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, out of whom 3.61 crore have been provided with free health treatments. In the last 4 years, a total of 4, 781 crore rupees have been spent on treatment. If we look at the performance of the different states of the country as per the analysis of the money spent and treatments provided till now.

The highest number of registrations for this scheme has been made in the state of Madhya Pradesh with a total of 3.11 crore patients registered, but the free treatment has been provided to only 21 lakhs of them. On the other hand, with half the registrations in comparison with MP, Tamil Nadu has offered the free treatment to thrice the patients. A total of 1.54 crore people is registered in Tamil Nadu, out of which 67 lakhs have received the free treatment.

Dr Girdhar Gyani, Director General, Association of Healthcare Providers India, said that the healthcare infrastructure in the south Indian states has improved a lot from earlier, and the governments of these states have implemented the scheme with efficiency, as a result of which, their performance has been better than other states of the country.
