210 KM Delhi-Dausa expressway ready, made from German technique

The work on the Delhi-Sohna to Dausa stretch of the country’s longest greenfield Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai expressway has been completed, and vehicle movement can begin in December. This is the first phase of the 1350 km long 8-lane expressway, which is 210 KM long. The work was supposed to take place in 3 phases in Dausa, and was to be finished by 30th June, but it got delayed by 4 months. With this, the vehicles moving from the Jaipur and Agra NH will now take 2 hours instead of 4 to reach Delhi.

The upper layer of the expressway has been constructed using the German technique using stone matrix asphalt (SMA), which will ensure that the expressway gets a longevity of 50 years, rather than the usual 10 to 15 years.

Special focus has been made on the security and safety on this expressway, with CCTV cameras having been installed at every KM on the highway. There are no speed-breakers, but speed displays at short distances. The expressway is high with safety walls on both sides, and animals will not be able to come out onto the roads, and therefore, the probability of accidents will dwindle. Scales have also been placed right before tolls at the interchange entries.

The speed limit has been set to 120 km/hour, and in case of over-speeding, the control room will get notified and a penalty on the driver will be imposed, with an e-challan being sent to the driver’s mobile phone.
