CRPF personnel assaulted his son during IT raids : Telangana Min alleges

Hyderabad: Telangana Labour and Employment Minister Ch Malla Reddy on Wednesday alleged that his son was hospitalized after being beaten up by the CRPF personnel who accompanied the Income Tax officials during raids at his firms and residences on Tuesday.

The IT raids continued on Wednesday too on Reddy’s firms and residences of the Minister and his relatives.

Malla Reddy’s elder son Mahender Reddy developed chest pain and was rushed to Narayana Multi-Specialty hospital for treatment.

Talking to media here today, the Minister, who visited the hospital, where his elder son was admitted for treatment alleged that IT officials were conducting raids on his and his relatives residences allegedly at the behest of BJP with political motivation.

He alleged that his son was admitted to the hospital after being harassed by Income Tax officials during the raids.

He made it clear that he does not run any illegal business except for providing services to the people by establishing education institutions.

Meanwhile, BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao talking to media said that it was not appropriate to attribute a political dimension to IT raids.

He questioned why Mallareddy was afraid of investigation when he had done nothing wrong.

The MLA said everyone is equal before the law and only those who have committed wrong will be scared.
