Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Senior Vice President G Niranjan on Wednesday said that the present conflicting situation between the Central and TRS governments and the manner in which the investigative agencies are acting as puppets for the parties in power may lead to anarchy in the state.

In a statement here, Nirajan said that the tactics played by the ruling parties at the centre and in state by using investigative agencies for having the upper hand threw the people into utter confusion.

He said, people have elected them to power expecting them to do welfare for the people but not for taking revenge against each other.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi punching the table and declaring “Ab dekh lenge” at Begumpet in Hyderabad, and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s utterances in a press meet saying that “Modi ji ab nahi chalega, nahi chalne denge”, the weapons used by both of them are awe-inspiring.

It seems now-a-days the legislative and executive systems have failed to function impartially and effectively, hence the judiciary system is requested to interfere to curb the present trends and to save democracy, the Congress leader said.

Niranjan said the Supreme Court on Tuesday raised its objections on the system of appointment of Election Commissioners without adopting any specified procedure. The Supreme Court desired to have persons like late Seshan as Chief Election Commissioner.

“We demand for evolving a system for the appointment of Election Commissioners at centre and Chief Electoral Officers in the state without any involvement of Union or State Governments”, he added.
