No matter which country, caste, or religion you belong in, but the experience enjoyed by everyone after consuming comfort food is exactly the same, which is the brain getting relieved. In every country, there is a different type of comfort food as per its culture and environment. In recent research conducted at the South Carolina University, it has been found out that people prefer to eat food which they have never tried before during the times of upheaval in their lives.

In a study conducted by Times of Change, it was also known that when there is high stability in life, people love to eat food from popular brands, which also helps us to discover new possibilities. In North America, pizza is the one which is eaten the most as a comfort food. It has been found out that men prefer having comfort food during times of happiness and celebration. On the other hand, women consume comfort food under stress, after which they experience guilt as well. They are not happy about the same.

In India, ‘khichdi’ is the most eaten as a comfort food. With comfort food, people feel a connect in their relationships, and the feeling of belongingness increases in them. In the USA, eating comfort food together makes people feel secure, even though its effects depend on past experiences as well.
