Ballia (UP): Chairman of Shankaracharya Parishad Swami Anand Swaroop has condemned the recent statement of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and MLC Swami Prasad Maurya on Ramcharitmanas and demanded that a case of treason should be lodged against him.

Talking to the reporters on Monday night, Swami Anand Swaroop said that no Muslim or Maulana makes unrestrained remarks against religious texts of Hindu, therefore the politicians should also not do cheap things to gain cheap publicity to get votes of a particular community.

He said that keeping in view Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024 such unrestrained statements are being made. “The Yogi government should take a serious note of such statements, take effective steps to curb such statements and a sedition case should be lodged,” he said.

The chairman alleged that foreign forces are attempting to disturb peace in the country. He said that Swami Prasad Maurya is just a face of the foreign conspirators.

He clarified that it has been clearly mentioned in the Ramcharitmanas that every person takes birth as a Shudra and he becomes a Brahmin or Shudra according to his deeds.

Swami Anand Swaroop said, “Valmiki was a Shudra, but Hindu society has always worship Brahma Rishi Valmiki in a temple.”

Coming in support of Dhirendra Shastri, Anand Swaroop said that he is working in accordance with the religion. “The campaign against Shastri has been launched as a part of a strategy,” he said.
