Hyderabad: Telangana Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution recommending to the Centre to include 11 communities in the Schedule Tribes (ST) list.
The communities are Valmiki Boya, Bedar, Kirataka, Nishadhi, Pedda Boyas, Talayari, Chanduvallu and Kaithi Lambada, Bhaat Mathuras and Chamar Mathuras.
Earlier, introducing the resolution in the house, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that “ The Commission of Inquiry for Scheduled Tribes (STs) in the year 2016 recommended for inclusion of the ten communities in the ST list.
Therefore, this house unanimously resolves to recommend to the Government of India to include these communities in the Scheduled Tribes (STs ) list.
Further, “Mal ‘ community, which inhabitants in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad & Mancherial districts have been representing for several years to include them in the Scheduled Tribes list.
Considering their socio-economic conditions, this house also resolves unanimously to include them in the Scheduled Tribes list, he added.
