India has been receiving the world’s support as far as the country’s stance is concerned with relation to Pakistan’s and China’s claims on its territories. Now, a bill has been presented in the US Senate, stating that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. This bill has been presented by Senators Jeff Merkley and Bill Hagerty. Recently, skirmishes between the armies of India and China for Arunachal Pradesh were seen. China has, time and again, made claims on the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Merkley, who is the president of the US Senate’s group on China, said that the Bill makes it clear that the USA sees Arunachal Pradesh as a part of India, and not China. The bill also states that it recognizes the McMahon Line, and opposes the intervention of the Chinese army to change the status quo, China building villages in disputed areas, and China issuing maps of the area with Mandarin names.

Both the senators stated that China is creating dangers for the independent and open India-pacific region, and amidst this, it is important for them to stand by their strategic ally, India.
