Suvendu hails HC order for NIA probe into Darivit incident in Bengal

Kolkata: Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday hailed Calcutta High Court order directing National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the alleged murder of Rajesh Sarkar and Tapas Barman, former students of Darivit High School in Uttar Dinajpur district in 2018.

” I welcome the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court’s Order directing @NIA_India investigation into the State-sponsored murder of Rajesh Sarkar & Tapas Barman, former students of Darivit High School in Uttar Dinajpur district, ” Adhikari tweeted.

” They were shot dead inside the school compound by Mamata Police on 20th September 2018 while protesting against the forceful Urdu imposition by the Mamata Govt, ” he alleged.

” Truth will prevail, Bengali Language Martyrs; Rajesh & Tapas will finally get justice, ” the BJP MLA from Nandigram stated.

Calcutta High Court on Wednesday ordered a NIA probe into the alleged murder of two former school students. A single-judge bench of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha ordered the probe.

The court also ordered for proper compensation to the affected families.
