Hussain is also Srinagar district development council (DDC) member from Balhama.

J&K Police said a case against a DDC member was filed in police station Panthachowk on the basis of a complaint lodged by Nazim Hussain Bhat and Imdad Ali Mir.

The family from Balhama who had allegedly been assaulted at Sempora on Srinagar outskirts also staged a protest on Tuesday evening against the DDC member.

“A reign of TERROR has been unleashed on people of Balhama, Srinagar by the incumbent DDC Member belonging to @BJP4India! This is the second assault on a civilian by him in less than a month! Even WOMEN are being assaulted now — under FULL security cover,” Mattoo said in a tweet.

DDC member Hussain responded to Matoo’s tweet and alleged that the persons who staged protest were actually land mafia who have grabbed pandit property and state land.
