On Sunday, June 11, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organized its ‘Maha Rally’ at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, opposing the BJP government and PM Modi’s ‘dictatorship’, and calling out the ordinance issued by the central government which states that the decision of the Delhi LG will be final as far as the control over Delhi’s bureaucrats and their transfers is concerned.

Addressing the gathering at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called this move PM Modi’s ‘dictatorship’, and alleged that such ordinances will be brought in other states of the country as well, including Rajasthan.

Reacting to the organization of this rally and its intention, in a BJP press conference at the party’s headquarters, BJP Delhi State President Virendra Sachdeva, and BJP MPs Manoj Tiwari and Ramesh Bidhuri, said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had turned into a ‘Khas Aadmi Party’ under Arvind Kejriwal, and that this rally was organized to hide the Delhi Chief Minister’s corruption. Manoj Tiwari also remarked that the Ramlila Maidan should be purified with Ganga Jal after Kejriwal’s rally took place there.

“I recall Kejriwal sharing the dais with Anna Hazare during India Against Corruption days at the Ramlila Maidan, and claiming to be against corruption. He was again heard screaming from Ramlila Maidan, this time to cover up his corruption”, added Tiwari.

Calling the Delhi CM, a ‘political tourist’, Tiwari also said that Kejriwal visited different cities of the country while turning a blind eye towards the problems faced by Delhi like supply of dirty water and the pollution of River Yamuna.

Virendra Sachdeva said, “AAP is no longer working for the common man and its only aim now is to rob the people of Delhi. Kejriwal has ashamed Delhi people with the low standard of his speech at the rally, and asserting that there were hundreds of Sisodias and Jains in his party. Did he mean to say the entire AAP is corrupt?”

“Kejriwal’s claim that his rally will be attended by one lakh people was belied by a person who set up the tents there and he told me that payment was made for 10,000 chairs only”, alleged Ramesh Bidhuri.

The BJP had also put up various posters and hoardings outside the Ramlila Maidan, taking a jibe at Kejriwal’s official residence’s renovation with a cost of 52 crore Rs.
