On Monday, July 17, just a day before the NDA meeting in New Delhi, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chief, Chirag Paswan, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the latter’s residence. As per party sources, a ‘positive outcome’ is expected, of which they are confident, indicating that Paswan will attend the NDA meeting tomorrow, for which he was invited, by BJP President JP Nadda.

Taking to Twitter after the meeting with Shah, Paswan said, ‘I had a positive discussion with the country’s Home Minister, respected Amit Shah Ji, in New Delhi.

Paswan is in the talks with the BJP for finalizing his party’s share of seats for the 2024 General Assembly elections, for which he has proposed the same 6-1 seat formula which was in place earlier in 2019 when his party was in alliance with the BJP. The formula is for the LJP (R) to have 6 Lok Sabha, and 1 Rajya Sabha seats.
