The BJP Velim Mandal, led by its leader, Savio Rodrigues, on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, took out a ‘Tiranga’ rally across the different villages in the South Goa constituency.

The ‘Tiranga’ rally was kicked off with the flag hoisting at the Government School at San Jose De Areal. At the flag hoisting programme, children sang patriotic songs and spoke on the beauty of India’s unity in diversity.

Speaking to the children, teachers and parents, BJP leader, Savio Rodrigues, said, ‘The future of India lies in your hands, my dear children. You give India hope with your thoughts of humanity, innocence and selflessness. Our freedom must always be protected by our thoughts and action. We must remember we are Indians first.’

The BJP karyakartas, riding bikes and cars donning the Tiranga, snaked through the different villages across the seven panchayats of Velim. On their way, the Karyakartas stopped at the Ram Mandir, Krishna Mandir and Baradi Cross, to pay their respect and pray for peace.

BJP State Vice-President and former Deputy Chief Minister of Goa, Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar, joined the bike rally at Ram Mandir in Rangalim, Velim. He encouraged the karyakartas to surge on with their rally.

Speaking to the BJP Velim Mandal, Kavlekar expressed, ‘It is the first time that the BJP Velim Mandal has organised a bike rally across the entire constituency. It is encouraging to see the mandal with its leader Savio Rodrigues and other office bearers reach to people in Velim, listen to their problems and make a difference.’

The BJP Velim Mandal visited the family of the freedom fighter, Arolkar, and also met with the freedom fighter, Namdev Lotlikar. The BJP Mandal officer bearers felicitated and thanked the freedom fighters and their families for their contribution to Velim, Goa and India.

The bike rally ended at the Betul Fort on the outskirts of Velim, where the BJP Velim Mandal paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and BJP leader Savio Rodrigues encouraged Goans to learn from one of India’s most fearless leaders to fight for the identity of India and Indians.
