Agartala: Former Tripura Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Wednesday claimed to have facilitated the sanction of 10 central projects worth Rs 3.39 crore for Tripura in the past one year of his office in the parliament.

Besides, during the session in parliament, I have raised as many as 17 questions, and I have also raised one private member’s bill on the compulsory teaching of lifestyles of the environment in schools,” Deb told the media during the interaction.

Referring to his discussion in parliament, Deb pointed out that many British laws still exist in the country and we are not aware of many of them, like piracy, which is creating problems, and the government moved to repeal them.

“I have also spoken about the new airport in Kailashahar. Though the central government has asked for funds, I have said that the government can’t provide such a huge amount of funds but can provide land”, he said, adding that he has also given a letter to the NHIDCL on speedy repair on the Kumarghat-Kailashahar road.
