Bishrampur (Chhattisgarh): Raining fire on the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged on Tuesday that a major failure of that party was that “whenever it assumed the country’s reins, terrorists’ morale witnessed a spurt.”

Addressing a public meeting in this town of election-bound Chhattisgarh, the visiting dignitary averred, “During Congress reign, it was commonplace to hear of bomb explosions or somebody having been butchered. Whichever state has the Congress in the saddle, crime rules supreme.”

In this state’s context, the Prime Minister charged the Congress dispensation with having failed to check Naxal violence.

“In the recent past, several BJP workers were snatched from us. Some days back, one individual was gunned down. Do you wish to live in the shadow of bombs and guns? No matter how much money you may possess, if your son does not return in the evening and his corpse is brought instead then what will you do with material possessions? Universal security is imperative,” he underlined.

Alleging that the law and order situation is in shambles within Surguja Division, Mr Modi added that human trafficking and narcotics smuggling shot up, numerous daughters of indigent and tribal household have disappeared, infiltrators are being encouraged for votes, adivasi land being snatched and due to a “policy of appeasement,” celebrating festivals has been rendered uphill.
