Xi-Biden summit to become milestone in history of China-US ties

Beijing: The summit of Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden in San Francisco will become a milestone in the history of relations the China-US relationship, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Thursday.

“The heads of the two states met again after one year, which underscored the historical continuity and epochal value of the diplomacy of the heads of state of China and the United States … and will certainly become a milestone in the history of the China-US relationship and an important event in current international relations,” China Central Television quoted Wang as telling a news conference after the summit.

The minister added that the summit has strategic importance and far-reaching consequences. He also said that Biden and Xi outlined a plan to implement “the healthy and stable development” of the bilateral relationship.
