Disha Salian’s father Satish Salian and his lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, culminated their march to Aditya and Uddhav Thackeray’s residence, ‘Matoshree’, as announced earlier this afternoon.
They served a fresh 500‑crore defamation notice to Aditya Thackeray, accusing him of labeling the Salian family’s demand for a fresh probe into the Disha Salian death case a ‘politically motivated move’. The notice was delivered at 4 PM amid heightened security outside Matoshree.
Along with this, Nilesh and Satish have handed over a pen-drive to the CBI, allegedly containing eye-witnesses’ statements and other related key evidence.
Before Nilesh and Satish reached Matoshree, security at the Thackeray residence had been tightened, and Aditya’s lawyer, Rahul Divate and MP Anil Desai, reached the Thackeray residence as well. A group of Shiv Sainiks could also be seen at the spot. ‘If someone tries to enter Matoshree by force, we are sitting outside to deal with them’, said the Shiv Sainik group. ‘Nobody needs to go inside Matoshree. This is a legal matter, which has to be dealt with by the court and lawyers, and hence, no “stuntbaazi” needs to be done separately’, they added.
As per the Shiv Sainiks, this was nothing but a political conspiracy to slander Aditya Thackeray’s name.
On the other hand, holding a copy of the Indian Constitution, Nilesh Ojha, standing outside Matoshree, said that this was to signify that the common man is no less and everyone stands equal in the eyes of the law of the country and the Constitution. He added how he was threatened by the Thackerays that ‘he would not be able to practice law any further’.
Speaking on the need to march to the Thackeray residence, Satish Salian said, ‘We came here to show that even we can take colossal action, and them threatening us will not deter us.’
