New Delhi: BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya on Wednesday said the Karataka Congress leaders’ protest against the Centre over devolution of funds at Jantar Mantar is an eyewash, the reason they are here is due to the unresolved leadership issue.

Siddaramaiah is leading the “Dilli Chalo ‘ protest organised by Karnataka Congress at Jantar Mantar to protest against the central government’s alleged step-motherly treatment in terms of devolution of funds to the state.

“Congress is involved in corruption and is not running the administration properly, they have come here because of internal disputes. DK Shivakumar wanted to become the Chief Minister but could not do so.

“Due to internal conflict, they have come here against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as he could not become the Chief Minister… They have an internal fight and they do not have any fight against us. But they want to blame it on us,” he told reporters here.

Siroya also said the Congress leaders have come to Delhi to cover up their misrule which is the result of insane guarantee schemes.

“There is an official statement of the CM’s economic advisor that the burden of Rs 58,000 crore which the government is carrying, how will it be managed? Therefore there is a concern.

“Not only this, but also another senior Congress leader BR Patil had threatened to resign because his constituency is not getting funds for development.

“The frustration that is prevalent in their government, because of this they have come here to cover up the misrule in Karnataka,” Siroya said.

Another Karnataka BJP leader PC Mohan said the Narendra Modi government increased Karnataka’s funding by 240 percent in a decade, from Rs 81,000 crore under UPA to Rs 2.82 lakh crore under NDA.

“The Congress party’s “Delhi Chalo” prioritises self-interest over state welfare,” he said.
