Gadag: A former BJP leader and long-standing RSS worker, Menasagi Ningabasappa Banad, made quite a statement by joining the Congress in his RSS uniform.

The event, which took place during a function in Nargund, has sparked a lot of buzz, especially since it’s the first time something like this has happened in North Karnataka.

The video of Ningabasappa’s switch is making rounds on social media, drawing both surprise and applause from the supporters of the Congress party.

The Congress, seizing the opportunity, organised the function as part of their campaign for Bagalkot candidate Samyukta Patil. High-profile Congress leaders like Minister Shivanand Patil were there to welcome Ningabasappa into their fold.

Ningabasappa decided to switch allegiances after three decades with the RSS. In a symbolic act, he removed the RSS cap and donned the white cap of the Congress during the event, underscoring his commitment to his new political affiliation.

However, not everyone is convinced by Ningabasappa’s move. Local BJP leaders are contending that his switch might just be a stunt to grab attention.
