Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy said during the ‘Mysuru Chalo’ padayatra that the corrupt state government has no moral right to stay in office “even for one minute”, a party leader said on Monday.

“When this government came to power, they promised voters a clean and transparent administration. But what do we see now? Over the past year, there’s been no sign of transparency. Instead, we’ve witnessed officers being pressured and money changing hands for transfers,” Kumaraswamy asserted.

In a strategic political move, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal (Secular) have united for this march, aimed at bringing attention to the alleged shortcomings of the current Karnataka government.

During the padayatra, Kumaraswamy accused the Congress-led state government of failing to uphold its promises of clean and transparent governance.

“We believe this government can’t stay in office for even a minute longer,” Kumaraswamy reiterated, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

The ‘Mysuru Chalo’ padayatra serves as a platform for the BJP and JDS to unite in their critique of the current administration. This unusual alliance reflects a shared mission to expose what they describe as incompetence and corruption within the government.
