Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Tuesday expressed her objection over the Uttar Pradesh government’s bulldozer action and said that bulldozers should be used only as per the court’s order.

Mayawati said that action against criminal elements should be taken under the ambit of law and instead of bulldozer action on criminal elements or their relatives, strict action should be taken against those officers who do not give proper justice to the victims.

In a series of posts on X the BSP supremo said, “Action against criminal elements in the country should be taken under the law and their family and close ones should not be punished for their crimes. All this has been shown by our party’s government by establishing ‘rule of law by law’.”

She said, “Bulldozers should also be used only as per the decision of the Supreme Court. However, it would be better that there is no need to use it because criminal elements can be dealt with under strict laws, whereas instead of using bulldozers on the family and close ones of criminal elements, strict action should be taken against the concerned officials, who, in collusion with such elements, do not give proper justice to the victims. All governments must pay attention to this.”

It may noted that the Yogi government is using bulldozers to curb the mafia elements, due to which the bulldozer has become a synonym of terror for the goons and mafias. The Yogi government has also received praise from various parts of the country for the action of the bulldozer and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been identified as Bulldozer Baba.
