EAM meets counterparts from Italy, Japan, South Korea

Fiuggi (Italy)/New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Italy, Japan and South Korea on the sidelines of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Fiuggi, Italy.

On his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Italy, Antonio Tajani, the EAM posted on X that the two exchanged perspectives on the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, on the Ukraine conflict and the Indo-Pacific.

“A warm meeting with DPM & FM @Antonio_Tajani of Italy today.

“Discussed opportunities in technology, innovation, clean energy, fertilizers, railways and investments.

“Also exchanged perspectives on IMEC, Ukraine and the Indo – Pacific.

“The recently announced Joint Strategic Action Plan guides our activities.

“Look forward to welcoming him in India in 2025.”

On his meeting with the Foreign Minister of Japan, he posted:

“Pleased to meet FM Takeshi Iwaya of Japan today.

“Exchanged views on advancing our strategic partnership and cooperation in Indo – Pacific.”

On his meeting with his South Korean counterpart Cho Tae-yul, he posted:

“Great to catch up with @FMChoTaeyul of the Republic of Korea.

“Appreciate our growing convergences on the Indo – Pacific, vibrant economic partnership, strong defence ties and active tech collaboration.”

The South Korean Foreign Minister posted:

“Also pleased to meet and conversed with @DrSJaishankar , insightful as always, in the bustle of G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Fiuggi!”
