Kiev loses up to 540 soldiers in battles with Russian forces

Moscow: Russia’s West (Zapad) group of forces has inflicted damage to the Ukrainian military in areas of the Kharkov (Kharkiv) Region and the Lugansk (Luhansk) People’s Republic (LPR) over the past day, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Saturday, adding that Kiev’s losses amounted to up to 540 soldiers.

“The units of the Zapad group of forces have improved their tactical situation. The manpower and equipment of three mechanized, airborne and jaeger brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Lozovaya, Zagryzovo, Kharkov region, Nadiya of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Olivovsky Yar, as well as Serebryansky reserve,” the defense ministry said.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Tsentr (Center) group of forces has eliminated up to 365 Ukrainian military personnel and repelled four counterattacks, and the Yug (South) group of forces eliminated up to 225 Ukrainian servicepeople, repelled two counterattacks and took more advantageous battlefield positions, the ministry also said.

In the area of ​​operations of the Vostok (East) group, the Ukrainian armed forces lost up to 150 soldiers, and the Russian troops continued their advance and repelled a Ukrainian counterattack, the ministry added.
