Rajnath Singh holds bilateral talks with Fijian and south sudanese counterparts

Bengaluru: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Fiji and South Sudan ahead of Aero India 2025.

During his talks with Fijian Defence Minister Pio Tikoduadua, both leaders reviewed ongoing defence cooperation and agreed to institutionalise the India-Fiji Joint Working Group on Defence Cooperation. The meeting focused on strengthening maritime security, naval capacity building, and training initiatives.

Later, in a discussion with South Sudanese Defence Minister Lt Gen Chol Thon J Balok, Singh expressed appreciation for South Sudan’s participation in Aero India 2025. Both sides agreed to expedite a defence cooperation agreement and enhance training exchanges.

India’s contribution to the UN Mission in South Sudan was acknowledged, with both sides exploring avenues for industry partnerships in defence collaboration.
