CBI raids ex-Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s residence

Raipur (Chhattisgarh): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted raids at the residence of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in connection with a money laundering case.

According to sources, he is being questioned in connection with Mahadev betting, liquor and coal scam cases. It is being told that the CBI team has also reached the house of his colleagues. The house of Vinod Verma, who was Bhupesh’s media advisor when he was the chief minister, is also being investigated.

The CBI team has also reached the house of MLA Devendra Yadav in Bhilai. According to the information, four teams of CBI had left Raipur this morning. A team reached the house of Patan MLA Bhupesh Baghel in Raipur. The remaining three teams were breached. Raids were also conducted at two other locations in Padum Nagar, Sector 5 and Sector 9 in Bhilai. CBI teams had come fully prepared. They surrounded the houses as soon as they came and did not let anyone in and out.

People present in the houses are being questioned.

The CBI has raided the premises of former Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, MLAs Devendra Yadav, Vinod Verma, OSD Manish Banchor, former IAS Anil Tuteja, IPS Anand Chhabra, IPS Arif Sheikh, IPS Abhishek Pallav, ASP Sanjay Dhruv, ASP Abhishek Maheshwari and two constables Nakul and Sahdev.

According to the information, more than 10 teams of CBI left Raipur in the early hours of 26 March. A team reached Bhupesh Baghel’s house in Raipur. After this, the rest of the teams reached Bhupesh Baghel’s house in Bhilai Teen Padum Nagar, MLA Devendra Yadav’s bungalow in Sector 5, IPS Abhishek Pallav’s bungalow in Sector 9 and the house of constables Nakul and Sahdev in Nehru Nagar.
