Army Chief stresses embracing emerging technologies for future-ready force during Leh visit

Srinagar: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi today underlined the need to embrace emerging technologies and continuously evolve to remain a future-ready force.

During his visit to the Fire and Fury Corps headquarters and Siachen Brigade in Leh, the Army chief reviewed operational preparedness and commended soldiers for their professionalism and exemplary service in the world’s most challenging conditions.

The Army Chief was addressing soldiers after visiting the headquarters of the Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps and the Siachen Brigade to review operational preparedness.

Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) said that while addressing the troops, COAS underlined the need to embrace emerging technologies and continuously evolve to remain a future-ready force.

“COAS visited HQ Fire and Fury Corps & Siachen Brigade, to review the operational preparedness of the formation. COAS commended all ranks for their professionalism & exemplary service in the world’s most challenging conditions,” ADGP said on X. “Addressing the troops, COAS underlined the need to embrace emerging technologies and continuously evolve to remain a future-ready force.”

General Dwivedi, yesterday, visited a forward post in the Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battlefield, and interacted with the brave soldiers of the 18 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles (18 JAK RIF), a battalion he was once commissioned.

The visit of Gen Dwivedi was emotionally resonant, as it brought the COAS back to the very battalion he was once commissioned into and had the honour to command.
