New Delhi: Superstar Rajinikanth has showered praise on actor Sivakarthikeyan’s latest film ‘Madharaasi’, calling it “excellent.”

The film, directed by AR Murugadoss, released in theatres on September 5 and has been the talk of the town ever since. Starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, the movie also features Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Shabeer Kallarakkal, and Vikranth in key roles.

Nearly a week after the film’s release, Sivakarthikeyan received a heartfelt message from none other than Rajinikanth.

Sharing his joy on social media, Sivakarthikeyan expressed his love and deep admiration for the superstar. Calling Rajinikanth his “idol” and “Thalaivar,” he quoted the legend’s words: “My god, excellent! What a performance! What actions! Super, super SK! I really loved it. You have become an action hero. God bless, God bless.”

For Sivakarthikeyan, who has always regarded Rajinikanth as his idol, the message was truly priceless. Sharing the quote with heartfelt gratitude, he added, “Heartfelt wishes from my Thalaivar, along with his trademark laugh. Love you Thalaivaaaaa.”

Sivakarthikeyan gained widespread recognition with the iconic track Why This Kolaveri Di and quickly rose to fame by composing music for blockbuster films such as Beast, Vikram, Jailer, Jawan, Leo, and Indian 2, among others, establishing an impressive body of work in just a few years.

The film’s trailer, released in August, promised an action-packed drama centered around the illegal smuggling of local firearms into the city, which triggered an intense police chase.
Sivakarthikeyan takes center stage as a man grappling with a medical condition, determined to protect his girlfriend amid the chaos.

Previously, Sivakarthikeyan was seen in Rajkumar Periasamy’s Amaran. This new film, a biopic of Major Mukund Varadarajan, hit theatres on October 31, 2025.

Produced by Kamal Haasan, R. Mahendran, and Sony Pictures International Productions, the project brought together the talents of Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi under the direction of Rajkumar Periasamy.

Fans and industry insiders alike are thrilled by Rajinikanth’s appreciation, which many see as a significant endorsement from one of Tamil cinema’s most iconic figures.

Madharaasi continues to draw audiences, cementing Sivakarthikeyan’s place among the leading stars of Tamil cinema.
