The Verandah Club proudly announces the 4th Edition of the Western Ghats Literary Festival, to be held in Coimbatore on November 1 and 2, 2025. Conceived as a confluence of India’s intellectual, cultural, and literary currents, the festival has evolved into one of India’s most thoughtfully curated platforms for the celebration of Indic ideas, creativity, and consciousness.

Curated by Shefali Vaidya, Director of The Verandah Club, Western Ghats Lit Fest is not just
another literary congregation; it is an experience crafted with precision and purpose. Every
element—from the choice of speakers and themes to the visual identity and session sequencing —reflects the hallmark of meticulous execution that The Verandah Club has come to embody. Months of preparation go into balancing scholarship with spontaneity, ensuring that the festival remains both deeply rooted and dynamically engaging.

This year’s edition is guided by the theme ‘Bharat Fast Forward’. The two-day festival will bring together more than 30 distinguished voices from across India and the global Bharatiya diaspora. It will feature keynote lectures, panel discussions, book launches, and art performances that bridge classical wisdom with contemporary relevance.

Organizers have ensured that every aspect of execution is seamlessly orchestrated. Precise
timekeeping, attention to finer detail and local hospitality of Coimbatore all combine to create an immersive environment.

The content curation stands out for its richness and balance. The festival will host sessions
spanning key note sessions on Operation Sindoor, civilisational studies, Economics for Viksit
Bharat, Heritage, Indian knowledge systems, political thought, Temple history, and cultural
relevance.

According to Jaganathan S, Founder of The Verandah Club, ‘The Western Ghats Lit Fest is not an event we stage; it is a spirit we nurture. Each edition is a dialogue between the past and the possible future of India’s literary identity.’

The festival’s collaborators include academic institutions, heritage bodies, and leading
publishers, ensuring both intellectual credibility and cultural authenticity. The Book Pavilion by Subbu books featuring curated titles from across the Indic spectrum, will once again be a reader’s delight.

With its blend of scholarship and celebration, the Western Ghats Lit Fest 2025 promises to
reaffirm Coimbatore’s place on India’s cultural and literary map as a city of conscience and
creativity.
