In a major turn of events, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has finally registered an FIR in the Disha Salian death case, on Sunday, September 13. An investigation following the filing of the FIR has been initiated, and it was on Friday, September 11, that Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, recorded his statement with the investigating agency.

The 10‑page FIR names the erstwhile chief minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, and his son, Aditya Thackeray, alleging they played a significant role in the conspiracy surrounding Disha’s death and the subsequent cover‑up.

It also lists several public servants and police officers who are suspected of involvement and must be investigated further.

Other names that are mentioned in the FIR are Rhea Chakraborty, her brother, Showik Chakraborty, Rohan Roy, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, Aditya Thackeray’s body-guards, Sachin Waze, Parambir Singh, DCP Vishal Thakur, the then home minister of Maharashtra, Anil Deshmukh, API Ashok Dewade (The police officer who claimed, during Mumbai Police’s earlier investigation into the matter, that he was the one who had collected all the relevant CCTV footages and the CDRs of both Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput), PI Jagdev Kalapad, abd PI Shailendra Nagarkar, along with other police personnel who were involved in the probe.

The FIR further mentions the doctors and other medical professionals who were related to the delayed autopsy. It names Dr. Sanjay Jadhav; concerned officers of the forensic science laboratory in Kalina, where the post-mortem of Disha’s dead body was delayed by at least 3 days, according to Satish Salian, including NP Bhale, the chemical analyser.

Security guards of the building where Disha stayed then have also been named. Security guards Sushil Kumar Yadav, Shiv Gautam alias Munna, who was spotted in a CCTV footage with police personnel at least half an hour before Disha died.

Moreover, the FIR mentions Preeti Rane and Praveen Rane; Disha was last seen, as captured in a CCTV footage, entering Preeti’s apartment, number 1101. More names mentioned are Ankita Satur, Indranil Vaidya, Deep Ajmera, Himanshu Shikare, Rishabh Padwal, Satwant Singh, Naved Mujawar, and Priyesh Rane; along with those of senior members of the SIT, including all the senior police officers under whose supervision, the faulty investigation was conducted.

In his complaint, which is part of the FIR, Satish Salian stated that Disha Salian, at the time of her death, was working as the celebrity manager for Sushant Singh Rajput, proving wrong all the claims that were made back in 2020, which said Disha and Sushant did not know each other, and hence, their suspicious deaths could not have been linked.

The FIR also talks about suspicious, out-of-place injury marks that Disha’s father saw near her jaw, below the chin. Initially, as per Satish, it had been refused that he could see photographs of Disha’s body, and only after he insisted, a few photographs were shown following a few days. He saw injury marks but no blood could be spotted on her face in the photos.

The FIR has been registered on charges of criminal conspiracy, gang-rape, murder, causing disappearance of evidence, giving false statements, and dereliction of duty by public servants to protect involved persons from punishment.

The FIR has been registered by the CBI following an order from the Bombay High Court, directing the filing of an FIR and a re-investigation into the suspicious death case of Disha.
