Another nature surprise, tremor jolt Chamba

Shimla: After receiving 131 mm of rainfall, Chamba district was jolted by light tremors early on Tuesday, Indian Meteorological Department communication confirmed.

A tremor measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale hit Chamba town in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday morning at 0104 hrs. The local residents felt the shock, but now loss of property has been reported by them.

The epicentre of the earthquake was located at a latitude of 32.65 degrees and a longitude of 76.57 degrees, five kilometres deep, in Chamba town.
