Bollywood movie ‘Lapata Ladies’ to be shown in SC on Friday

New Delhi: With a view to sensitise the court staff on gender sensitization, the Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud has announced the screening of movie ‘Lapata Ladies’ at the Supreme Court here on Friday.

All the apex court judges, their spouses and members of the registry will watch the movie tomorrow.

The movie’s producers, veteran Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and film director Kiran Rao, will attend the special screening of the film, which will take place at auditorium of the top court’s administrative building complex.

The initiative is part of the CJI’s emphasis on year-round gender sensitisation programme at the top court.

The film is currently streaming on Netflix, while it was released in cinema halls across the country on March one.

The film was screened at the 48th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2023.
