Jammu: Alert troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) early in the morning on Wednesday foiled an infiltration bid along the International Border(IB) in the Pathankot sector.

The Jammu-based BSF spokesperson here said that at pre-dawn, troops observed a suspicious movement across the international border in the Border Outpost of Tashpatan, Pathankot border area, and one intruder was observed crossing the border.

“He was challenged by the alert troops but paid no heed and kept on moving; BSF troops sensing a threat neutralised the intruder,” he said, adding that the identity and motive of the intruder are being ascertained.

“Vigilant BSF troops thwarted an infiltration attempt. Strong protest will be lodged with Pak Rangers,” said the spokesman.
