Chess competition from Oct 18

Kolhapur (Maharashtra): A four-day Maharashtra state selection scoring chess competition will be held from October 18 to 21 at the New Education Society’s Gadkari Hall on behalf of the Chess Association of Kolhapur (CAK).

In a statement, Bharat Chaugule and Manish Marulkar of CAK said the competition will be held as per Swiss league method in eight rounds.

The first 10 winners will get a total of Rs 50,000 and a cup while the winners will get Rs 10,000 and a cup. The runner up will bag Rs 9,000 and third placed winner Rs 8,000.

The first four winners will be selected in the state team to take part in the 59th National Chess Championship competition to be held in Delhi from December 22 to January 3, 2023.
