China unwilling to reduce tension on LAC, Indian army undeterred

After the 17th round of talks with China, it is clear that China is not interested in reducing the tension on the border-dispute. As a result, the Indian army will keep standing on the 3488 KM long LAC. This is the third consecutive century when both the armies are at loggerheads, but this time, the challenge is the biggest. As per Home Ministry and Defense Ministry sources, around 2 lakh Chinese soldiers are ready on the LAC, and around the same number of soldiers from the Indian army and ITBP are deployed.

It is also for the first time that China has collected weapons in large quantities, but India is not behind them by any means, and the arms which have been deployed on the LAC from the Indian side include various types of tanks, rocket launchers, multi-grenade launchers, under-barrel launchers, assault rifles, etc. Recently, India has also placed an order to buy 17 high-resolution cameras, which will be used to keep a bird’s eye watch on China. These cameras will be given to ITBP.

The ITBP is deployed on the Chinese border at the heights of 9000 to 18000 feet. Sources are of the opinion that the difference between the two sides on the disputed border has become very less. In many places, the Chinese army is deployed at a distance of merely 500 feet. Looking at the pucca structures developed by China, India has made major changes to its strategy, and is rapidly raising concrete structures and other basic facilities for its soldiers. The second part of the strategy is to quickly develop helipads, airstrips, storages, etc. on the border.
