Covid-19: India logs 4,435 fresh cases

New Delhi: India recorded 4,435 fresh cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 23,091, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.

The death toll has risen to 5,30,916 as 15 more fatalities were recorded- four deaths were reported from Maharashtra; one death each was reported from Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Puducherry and Rajasthan; and four were reconciled by Kerala.

As many as 2,508 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. The total number of people who have recuperated from the disease stands at 4.41 crore (4,41,79,712), while the case fatality rate stands at 1.19.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.38 percent while the weekly positivity was pegged at 2.79 per cent.

The Ministry said 1,979 vaccine doses of Covid-19 were administered during the last 24 hours under the nationwide vaccination drive.

220.66 cr Total Vaccine doses (95.21 cr Second Dose and 22.86 cr Precaution Dose) have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the Ministry added.

Meanwhile, 92.21 cr Total Tests have been conducted so far; 1,31,086 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as per Ministry data.

Meanwhile, marking a sudden hike in the number of positive cases, the national capital has reported 521 new Covid cases and one death in the last 24 hours, according to a daily bulletin issued by the Delhi Health Department on Tuesday.
